This is the virtual school of the Sapiens Network, home of a range of tools, methods and concepts to help with the inclusion of disadvantaged groups in to learning and employment.
The Sapiens Network is a transnational Network of EQUAL projects across Europe covering six partners from six EU member states: Ireland, England, France, Germany, Portugal and the Czech Republic. EQUAL is a European Community initiative for innovativation to tackle inequalities within our European Society. Each EQUAL project is a Development Partnership consisting of up to 15 individual locally based partners.
The Sapiens Network both working at a transnational level and drawing upon experiences at a regional level to tackle the issues relating to social inclusion, access to learning and employability for groups most at risk and disadvantaged in society. The Sapiens Academia is a virtual school housing a range of proven tools drawn from each of the Sapiens partners. These tools are described in their native language and where possible translated in to the language of other partners. The purpose of the Sapiens Academia is to make available to practioners, policy makers and project managers a wide range of social inclusion and employment tools in a format to allow their transferability to other areas of Europe and into new contexts. Each tool is described in its local contexts with a full description of its implementation, evaluation and where possible an indication of implementation issues and costs. Where applicable visual images of tools, video and audio clips have been included.
